Just around the corner...

Welcome to my travel blog!  This blog was set up to journal our trip to China to bring home our daughter, Anna Kathryn BoDi Kovach.

Today is Saturday, and I can actually count on one hand the number of days left before we board the plane that will take us halfway around the world to be united with our daughter.   Mark and I are packing our bags for the trip, running errands, and adding items to our to-do list.  (but not getting too many checked off!).  I know that somehow, it will all be done by Wednesday night -- or possibly very early Thursday morning.  I tend to work to the deadline, and this trip is no exception, considering the accelerated timeline we've had.  I prayed for things in our adoption process to speed up, and since God has a sense of humor, they have gone into overdrive in the past 2 weeks!

Gotcha Day-- or as I prefer to think of it, Forever Family Day, is Tuesday, September 16.  That is the day we will go to the Civil Affairs office in Nanchang and she will be placed in our arms.

I am excited to follow your journey! We were there 7/07 to meet our daughter Lilly! We did bring a laptop and were able to blog. Occasionally we had to go in through internet explorer or through aol to be able to view our posts. Have fun! You are in for a wonderful adventure! Rest up now for you probably won't get much rest while in China.

Kimberly,
Congratulations Kimberly and Mark. My name is Alisa and I am Jimmie's wife, who works in your school system. We are also adopting from China. We just got your blog address and wanted to let you know that we have the same Gotcha Day, 9/16. Our daughter is in Xiamen, Fujian and her name is Anna Li. I will be in Fuzhou until 9/23, so I am not sure if we will cross paths in Guandgzou. If not your family will be in our prayers! Anna Kathryn is beautiful!

Why do I continue to leave comments without putting my name on them? You should take 10 points off of my paper, Mrs. Kovach.

I know it's a hectic schedule but do your best to enjoy the journey! We adopted twice and on the second trip, I did my best to try to slowdown and take it all in. Definitely easier said then done! Also, since you brought up the subject of the immunization affidavit - be sure that you have a copy of that form when you come back through immigration. We gave our original to the US Embassy for her Visa - but some how the form didn't make it into her Visa package. We didn't make a copy and it became a big issue at immigration. They let us through only because I'd happen to have an English version of the immunization records that China gave to us. Enjoy the journey! It's wonderful! Stacy

Hey Dad and Kim,
Well when you get this you should be in China. Just remember Dad the poo poo platter isn't really what it sounds like. Anyway, Scott called and said that Karen's doctor said that the cancer has gone away!! She has one more treatment left and then she should be done. I will keep you updated on their situation. Look forward to seeing more pics and reading more "blogs". Hope all is well and we will see you in less than 3 weeks. Love you guys.

Jake

PS Will also keep you updated on the game this weekend. Go BUCKS!!
